And There's No Amount Of Reason That Could Save Me So Break Me

Yesterday my mom fell while ice skating and broke her pelvis. Old people break their pelvises (pelvi?) My mom is not an old person. And yet her pelvis is broken. I cannot reconcile the two.

Day 10 of my month of photos:

Lions Gate Bridge (again) taken from the seawall (on a different night so it still counts!)

  2. Agreed. The amount of funny looks I get from doctors who tell me my back problems are like old people problems make me shake my fist pretty hard at the whole getting older thing, too. I hope your mum is doing okay! And thanks for sharing such a beautiful shot :)

  3. I hope your mom has a speedy recovery! And start taking calcium! The Lion's gate is my favourite bridge, except when I have to drive over it! :)

  7. DUDE, sorry about your mom! Is she in hospital to start the recovery, or at home? My gramma broke her coccyx (tailbone) while I lived with her, and it was so sad watching her trying to get around.
Granted, she was probably 30 years older than your mom, so i'm sure your mama doesn't look as pathetic!!!!
Hope she heals fast (and isn't too cranky while it's happening!)

  9. That's got to be incredibly uncomfortable. I'm so sorry to hear it and hope she recovers soon.

  10. I'm so sorry. That's very upsetting. However, old people break things walking down the stairs. Your mom was ice skating. You or I could break our pelvis ice skating. Uh...not to make you paranoid about skating.

  11. Pelvi is most definitely a word. Anything ending in "is" or "us" gets the plural "i". Best wishes towards your mom's speedy recovery!

  13. What?!?!

Ugh. I'm so sorry! Sometimes I feel like I need everyone I love on a leash so I can keep them out of trouble. Should I send you a prototype for testing?
