Up And Above The Clouds The Only Way To Fly

I have a confession. I watch The Bachelor. Religiously. I am emotionally invested in Jake's happiness. I didn't start watching the Bachelor until the Jason/Molly/Melissa season so I know that I'm fairly new to the Bachelor but I feel like the Bachelor has been in my life forever. I do not remember my life pre-Bachelor (not that I want to.)

Okay that may be a bit of an exaggeration. I don't Google the Bachelor contestants. I don't know their last names. I don't even know their hometowns (though that will be remedied in a few hours.) I am just very wrapped up in the silliness that is this show. Do you watch the Bachelor? Do you know who Jake is? Do you love him? Hate him? (Me? I'm undecided.)

Part of why I love watching the Bachelor is because Shawn and I watch it with another couple (our road trip buddies.) One week we host Bachelor night and the following week they have us over to their house. We eat yummy food, rate the crazy, mock Jake for being such a wiener (I'm trying to like him, I swear) and count the number of times the instrumental version of "On the Wings of Love" plays in the background. On tonight's menu? Chicken wings of love. *Sigh* I almost love Monday because of the Bachelor. Almost.

Day 8 of my month of photos:

The Sails of Canada Place viewed from Stanley Park.

  1. BHAHAHA HA HA. i love it! i secretly watch too, but have no idea about who the girls are. i just first names and annoying habits. havnt roped ry into it, but he DOES know who jake is. and he scoffs at the wings of love part every time he sees the title on the pvr.
too funny about shawn being into it. would have never pictured that!

  2. Oh, it's like watching a train wreck. I can't stop watching, but I really really want to. If that Vienna girl gets him in the end, I swear to god I will never watch another season!!

  3. I just can't bring myself to watching The Bachelor. Never could. For some reason it makes me want to pull my hair out. No really.

    Love, love all your pictures!

  4. LOL I totally watch it. David got me into it actually and we watch it religiously every Monday night :)

Jason was an arse, and this yr I can't believe he's got two total bimbos left in the final 3. He seemed such an intelligent boy...

  5. Ah! I cannot watch reality TV no matter how hard I try! I just can't do it. I feel like such a failure of a girl lol

  6. I watched probably the first 4-5 seasons of The Bachelor. And I did like it. But ... I got REALLY sick of the follow-up stories about how the bachelors and ladies they chose in the finale never stuck together. I felt like (a) the process is ridiculous for finding the love of your life and (b) celebrity gets the best of these relationships and they're doomed to fail before they even begin. Once I became soured on the whole process, I stopped watching. It wasn't fun anymore.

  7. Don't watch it, although I did watch some episodes of the Jason season. It's no fun anymore because you know it's not going to work out.

    I LOVE that photo! Beautiful!

  8. So, I'm a religious Bachelor watcher as well. I can't help it. It is ridiculous, over the top, and plain ol' crazy - but so addicting! This season we've been too busy to do so, but in previous seasons we've had the weekly Bachelor parties too. They really do make Mondays that much better.

    Love the sails.

  9. A number of years ago I was totally hooked on reality shows like the Bachelor and Bachelorette and that one with the stupid guy who they had posing as really wealthy when he was actually a construction worker, and I can't remember what all else. They're such a good guilty pleasure.

And I love the pretty pretty colors in the photo reflected in the water!

  10. I'm watching the Bachelor...if I never hear "On the wings of live" will be TOO soon haha. I did a REALLY bad thing last week tho. I was pissed off because of who left on last week's I googled her name to find out more...and it gave me the winner. So mad I ruined it for myself!!

  11. My freshman year roommate got me hooked on that show but I haven't watched it since.

That photo is so pretty. Love the blue lights shining through.
