In This House No One Goes To Sleep For Days It's Like We're Working On A Mountainside Trying Not To Slide Into The Ocean

Oh look! Another photo of my dog!

In this picture Stella is trying to use the power of her mind to get Shawn's hamburger into her belly.

It only kind of worked a little. (Dear Shawn, the dogs beg because you feed them when they do cute shit like rest their heads on your knees while you eat. Seriously. Stop it. Love Hillary)

Oh hey, so I guess I don't really need to point this out but I'm still punchy. Like, really punchy. Like perhaps I should actually do some punching so that I stop shooting lasers out of my eyes and speaking in my bitey voice. I had big plans to become a runner last night so I could run out my stress, but then it rained and got all windy so I ate some ice cream instead. It seemed like a good plan at the time.

My new plan is to banish my bad mood with a long weekend of selfishness. Shawn is going on a boys'-only-road- trip from Friday morning until Monday afternoon and I am really looking forward to having some alone time. I love my husband and I love spending time with him blah blah blah I am going to sleep diagonally across the bed and eat ice cream for dinner without his judgey eyes. This weekend will include a lot of mac & cheese and puppy cuddles and Law & Order reruns and I don't even care that every single person I know (including my parents, who never go anywhere) is heading out of town for the long weekend. I am going to staycation my ass off (because I am a douche who says "staycation" punch punch punch.)

  1. B works every other weekend. While some weekends I miss him terribly, I love being able to watch endless DVRed crap (The Hills, Say Yes to the Dress, etc), eat cake for lunch, and just generally do whatever I want without justifying it. There is definitely something to be said about space in a marriage.

  2. Enjoy every last minute! Sometimes having extended alone time is exactly what's needed.

I'm feeling abnormally stabby today...no idea why.

  4. I hope you enjoy your long weekend. I could use a staycation (yeah I said it) myself.

  5. T's uncle is coming to visit. I'd love to staycation alone instead. :) I'm not punchy yet, but the closer this visit gets, the more punchy I'll be. The icecream is sounding pretty good right about now!

  6. A weekend left to your own devices might be exactly what you need. You could sleep as much as the puppies let you and wear your PJs all day - for three days in a row if you wanted. And eat ice cream and whatever else and no judgey eyes.

Oh, that sounds good to me.

Nick is staycationing tomorrow. He was supposed to be out of town but things went awry and now he's home and not going to the office. I love saying staycation. It's such an annoying word. Staaaaaycation!

Also, maybe you really should find someone to punch. Could help. I have a couple suggestions for you but they live near me and far from you.

No? Okay, then I'll settle for Shawn's cheeseburger.

  11. This is why I actually punch people :) Helps :)
I also suggest baileys and coffee for breakfast.
And ordering out food for lunch, icecream for dinner, and wine, lots of wine.
    Enjoy it. Enjoy it ALLLLLLLLLL!
    Happy Staycation to ya :)

  13. Staycations are my fave especially when reruns and ice cream are involved. Heck, I wish I had some ice cream right now coz it'd be the perfect time.

  14. Although I miss John when he's on a a work trip or whatever, diagonal sleeping is quite nice!

Oh, and I love this hamburger-Stella picture! Reminds me of the exact expression Abbie gets when she's begging for anything and everything. I really should also stop giving her random treats. BAD!
