I've been trying to read blogs but it's difficult to read my computer screen (it's taken me fifteen minutes to type this.) I attempted to finish my book (I'm 20 pages away from finishing a murder mystery and it is KILLING ME that I can't see the words on the page) but I failed. Daytime television is mind-numbingly dull. I'm very complainy. I'm sorry. I know that in a week I will be laughing at how wimpy I'm being right now.
Things aren't all bad. Shawn is being a giant sweetheart. I ate ice cream for breakfast. My puppies know something is wrong so they're being less jumpy and more cuddley. Things are okay. They will be better later but for now they're okay.
Oooh that sounds painful! I'm really short sighted and its always tempted me (particularly as I am sitting here nursing a sore eye irritated by a contact lens right now) but I'm a bit scared about it. Hope you get your perfect vision soon! Nothing worse than not being able to finish a book!
ReplyDeleteI only got glasses at 19 (25 now), so I still remember life without them...But I actually think I look better wearing glasses than not (they tend to help disguise the fucking ginorma-bags that are always under my eyes).
ReplyDeleteBut, now I'm sort of curious about laser eye surgery. I mean, no way in hell I can afford it for AT LEAST a couple years, but it would be RAD to watch movies and such without having to wear my specs...
sounds like you need to take a sleeping pill and sleep until tomorrow when you'll be ALL BETTER :-) that, or eat more ice cream. and cuddle the dogs. am very proud of you for not crying/screaming ;-)
ReplyDeleteOh, Hills. I'm sorry it's such a rough day. I had a less-invasive kind and went shopping that afternoon. I KNOW.
ReplyDeleteI hope another day of rest makes a huge difference. xoxo
If you're reading this, I guess that means you feel better, so there's no need for me to say "get seeing well soon!" But I will anyway.
ReplyDeletei am glad things went well! dont forget about the vodka in your freezer. if you cant see you might as well be intoxicated!
ReplyDeleteAlso, you just made an awesome pun - the murder mystery is killing you. How awesome is that?
ReplyDeleteOwch! Ice cream makes everything feel better!
ReplyDeleteYou're a stronger woman than me! I work in the industry and have seen my fair share of post-op patients and videos of the surgery and I cannot imagine actually doing it. (This coming from someone who has worn glasses since I was 5.)
ReplyDeleteEveryone who I've ever met has been wildly happy with the results. Enjoy your 20/20 vision! That'll be so nice to see clearly when you open your eyes in the morning and not have to put on corrective lenses!
Good on you for going through with it. You're a brave, brave woman. Feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteeek! thats no fun, feel better soon dear!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you went through with it though! I'm sure it will be worth it. Feel better soon hon :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping you can read this now and hoping you're eyes are feeling a heck of a lot better!
ReplyDeleteGlad you did it though. I'm guessing you will be too after they have healed.
Oh gosh, big hugs to you and I have so much admiration for you for going through with it - I'm way too much of a wuss!! I hope you feel better PRONTO xoxo
ReplyDeleteHugs hugs hugs to you and your burny, itchy eyeballs. Handwashed, hygenic hugs, of course.
ReplyDeleteAlso? It's KILLING YOU that you can't finish your murder mystery? Hahahahaha!
Oh no! I'm sorry that it's a hard recovery- I'm excited to hear about how your new peepers are working when you get through this next bit though!
ReplyDeleteYou're terribly brave <3
Ps - is it true you can smell the lasers burning your eyeballs? Just wondering.
Hope your eyes are better. They are better, right?
ReplyDeleteOff topic, is the title Ben Harper?
Wow, feel better! Maybe some podcast are in order to keep you amused. May I suggest Savage Love with Dan Savage? It's informative AND hilarious!
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon! Hope you're back to reading in no time...
ReplyDeleteHow come on all of those reality TV shows where they fix people's eyes, teeth, boobs, etc... they always come out of the lasik with perfect vision immediately?
ReplyDelete"OH I CAN SEE EVERRRYTHING!!!"
Tell me why that is, Hillary. Is TV *gasp* NOT REAL?
