I had big plans to celebrate American Thanksgiving but I got sidetracked by the thought of homemade poutine.
We went gourmet style, making a rich, shredded beef gravy and using real fries from the fish&chips place on the corner instead of making oven fries.
We invited friends over, one of whom was a poutine virgin, to share in our gluttony.
It was glorious.

Looks super tasty!
ReplyDeleteI usually don't care much for poutine but that looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteSweet Jesus, that is the most digustingly delicious thing I have seen in a long time. Just look at those curds, will ya?
ReplyDeleteDo you know if drool has any serious adverse effect on computer keyboards?
I'm not a meat eater, but if anything was to turn me back to carnivorous ways it would be this dish. Droooooool.
ReplyDeleteWOW that looks beyond amazing!! Nom nom nom!!
ReplyDeleteNow that is poutine done right! I'm Canadian; I should know.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed yourself!
Excuse me as I wipe the drool from my face...
ReplyDeleteWhere did you end up getting the cheese curds??
ReplyDeleteGodddddd that looks delicious and I don't even like gravy.
ReplyDeleteWell done miss.
I got the cheese curds from La Belle Patat on Davie (thanks to Meg's suggestion!)

ReplyDeletemy mom plans to make poutine over xmas after our foray into Real Canadian Poutine this summer... i can't wait. i also showed her this picture :)
ReplyDeleteum this looks glorious and delicious and just YUM.
ReplyDeleteWell that's just about one of the happiest things to show up on my screen today :)
ReplyDeleteFor the veggies out there, there are many options for the gravy... if you are vegan... could be an issue, but we have a variety of poutine in the city - brie and lobster bisque (OMG from Coast...) among many more including from the head chef of coast a trailor set up to sell his wares.
It's a lovely addiction. Have you tried any of the poutine from the place on Davie where they apparently have 20 different types??? I need a date... ;)
OH I want some! Want!
ReplyDeleteOH.MY.WORD
