You Can Kill A Lot Of Time If You Really Put Your Mind To It

Willie is due in a week. One week. I'm finally on maternity leave, trying to get the nursery organized, and failing miserably at staying focused. My head is in the clouds. Part of me wants Willie to stay put where's he safe and protected. And then there's the part of that is almost giddy at the thought of having my body to myself. (Which isn't an entirely reasonable thought, I know, seeing as I'm hoping to be able to nurse Willie.) There are a lot of unknowns in my immediate future. I'm trying to savour each day that I have and not wish my time away. Willie will arrive when he's good and ready. All I can do is wait.

  5. SO excited for that baby's arrival. I, too, was ecstatic at the thought of having my body to myself again (I nursed for 8 months, but my body was still ALL MY OWN compared to how it felt during pregnancy).

Sitting here on the edge of my seat!

  6. Have we talked about this on Twitter before? I think we have. Anyway, getting the body back (like, right away!) is the best part of giving birth.

Also, not sure if you're planning to pump, but even though it sort of doubles your time, it IS nice for whenever you feel like NOT having a baby strapped to your boob. You can pump and then have bottles on hand so Shawn can feed Willie.

That's my assvice for the day :-)

PS- Don't forget to tell us once he's here. Otherwise I'll fret.

I'm proud of you for taking extra time before your due date to get things done! It will be so worth it.

  9. I love/hate the "It could REALLY BE TODAY!!" stage! I mean, for myself I both love it and hate it. For OTHER PEOPLE I totally love it. Every day I can think, "MAYBE BABY TODAY!!"

  11. ONE WEEK - SQUEEEEEE! Very excited for you! Just remind yourself that Willie only needs a few simple things: food, warmth, shelter. The disorganization that you feel - he'll never notice. So, if your place isn't in tip top shape when he arrives, don't stress it. Focus your energy on that little bundle of love!
