My world has kind of shrunk since Grady was born. I'm all about the babies now. Baby this and baby that. I'm okay with it. I know it won't last forever.
With the lack of travel and parties and disposable income in my life, I find myself getting jazzed about all things baby. Like the onslaught of 2012 babies.
There's Lisa's baby. Leah and Jonna's babies. Kristin's baby. There's an Awkwardly Social baby. A Fab Brunette baby and a Mama in the City baby. Lots of babies. So many babies that I'm probably forgetting a few (sorry! Baby brain!)
But you guys. There is one baby in particular who is making me clenchy with excitement. Turtle is having a baby! Big sister, best friend, heart person, Turtle is due in May with either my second niece or my first nephew (ultrasound has confirmed there is only one.) And? She totally knows if it's going to be my second niece or my first nephew but she won't tell me. She won't tell anyone, so I'm not taking it personally. I'm trying to patient until she feels like she's ready to share the news. (Yes, Turtle, sending passive aggressive emails is my way of being patient. Next week? My way of being patient will include phone calls.)
Babies! Wheee!

Yay, another family baby!
ReplyDeleteI have two cousins who are close to me in age (I'm 6 months younger than the other two) and when we were growing up, the two of them were best buds. And when we went to visit that part of the family, we were 3 peas in a pod. Having cousins close in age can be so much fun, so I am excited for your kid's new future playmate!
Congrats to Turtle! Although I haven't announced it on my blog yet, I'm 7 weeks pregnant today :)
ReplyDeleteI had no like of babies until I had one, and now I'm the same... babies- yay!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy friend is being induced tomorrow (not good circumstances) BUT IT"S A BABY!! So I'm celebrating with champagne. And I currently have 4 very very good friends and one cousine due next year which is amazing!
BOOOOOOO to the secret sex!
i've been trying to convince my sister to have a baby so that i can have a niece/nephew. she is selfishly refusing. it's like she doesn't love me at ALL.
ReplyDeleteMy mother just phoned me to tell me one of her friends daughters is pregnant with her second child and I am still not pregnant with my first. Thanks Mom!
ReplyDeleteHahaha
It is funny, isn't it? I ran from babies like the plague, and then suddenly I was all, "Oh, do you have a picture of your baby? Can I see?"
ReplyDeleteChildren suddenly got a hell of a lot more interesting.
And oh, congratulations, Auntie Hill! Also, she should tell you. C'mon now.
I feel that way about weddings. Not that I am engaged (yet). Besides, babies are super cute. Lots to get excited about!
ReplyDeleteDude, I told Grady. I'm sure he'll let you know any day now.
ReplyDeleteBabies are on my brain too! Thanks for the mention :)
ReplyDeleteDang, your family is just knocking them out. Bam bam bam, baby baby baby! Congratulations to you all!
ReplyDeleteYay for babies!
ReplyDelete(Sorry so late. December is trying to kill me.)
Babies! It's so nice finally being in the baby club, and to have such good internet friends also expecting is icing on the cake. (Alexa of Flotsam is also expecting!)
